The Chronicles of a Dead Empire
Crown of Hesh
The Crown of Hesh is a powerful divine item. Created thousands of years ago, the crown is a gift from Hesh the Wanderer to his followers for their devotion to to his causes, which include charity to the poor, hospitality to wanderers and travelers, freedom of travel on the roads, and celebration of the wind and air.
When the order split at the first beginnings of the Illerian Empire, the result was a civil war of sorts – The Separation of Hesh, with a treaty negotiated by the Emperor himself in the Great Meeting Hall in Kofina. The followers of Hesh and the followers of The Star’s Source agreed to contribute money to build a shrine that would contain the crown that would be accessible by both sides. The saying “when the Heshmites agree again” (the equivalent to the real world “when hell freezes over”) was born at this time to illustrate the depth of this rift.
When the Great Invasion took place, the crown was considered safe until the war started to go badly for the peoples of the Northern Continent and the Eastern Continent. When the great armies of the Western Continent came to the Alabaster Gates of Kofina, the crown was given to a young sage by the name of Theojan Herran (later known as Theojan Northborn) to make his way to Mathoja. He never made it to Mathoja, and traveled with the survivors to establish the Majohlie people.
